Policy Summary
The George Washington University (“GW” or “university”) requires that all students under the age of 26, regardless of program of study, part-time or full-time, degree or non-degree status, provide documentation of immunity against certain communicable diseases, required by D.C. law. This policy facilitates compliance with D.C. Immunization law and promotes a healthy university environment.

Policy
In accordance with university policy and D.C. law, all students under the age of 26, regardless of program, enrollment status (full-time or part-time), or degree status, must provide documentation of immunity against certain communicable diseases. This requirement does not apply to M.D. students, as the School of Medicine and Health Sciences follows its own immunization verification process.
Students must submit immunization records through the Medical Portal only. The detailed instructions, policy, and procedures may be found on the Student Health Center's website. The Student Health Center (SHC) is located in the University Student Center at 800 21st Street NW, Ground Floor, NW, Washington, D.C. 20052.
Procedures
Students submit required immunization records through the medical portal. SHC Staff review immunization records for compliance and notify students of any missing/outstanding immunizations.
