Policies at GW are created and maintained with the purpose of encouraging a culture of ethical, social, professional and legal behavior and responsibility.  Policies serve to uphold GW's values and mission while protecting its people and reputation. A University Policy connects the university's mission to the everyday actions of its community and clarifies the institution's expectations of its individual members.

Members of the GW community are responsible for adhering to and acting in accordance with university policies. Non-compliance with university policies may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or dismissal. Unit specific consequences for policy non-compliance are outlined in policies, if applicable. As an employer, the university reserves the right to determine the applicability of policies and also reserves the right to change policies, procedures, and guidance at any time.
