Associate Vice President & Data Privacy Officer
Dorinda Tucker serves as the Associate Vice President for Ethics, Compliance, and Risk and is the Data Privacy Officer for the university. She is responsible for leading the Ethics and Compliance Program and the Enterprise Risk Management Program as well as manages the Internal Audit outsourced engagement. As the Data Privacy Officer, she leads the university's Privacy Office in regulation compliance and personal information data protection programs. Dorinda has 30+ years experience working in areas of risk management, financial operations, and compliance serving higher education, corporate, and government industries and has extensive experience engaging with c-suite executives and trustees in complex environments. Prior to joining the George Washington University, Dorinda spent 20 years in management at IBM supporting the federal marketplace, primarily focused on operational improvement, compliance and controls and business transformation. Dorinda is a double alum from the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Finance and an MBA. She is also a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
Director of Ethics and Compliance
Ashley Fountaine serves as the Director of Ethics and Compliance for the Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Risk. Some of her core responsibilities include overseeing the annual policy review process and conflict of interest disclosure process, report submissions through the EthicsPoint Hotline, the University Compliance Network, and other cross-institutional working groups and compliance functions as needed. Ashley has a strong background in compliance in higher education, previously serving as the Academic Affairs and Policy Specialist in the Office of the Provost at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and the Assistant Director of Community Standards at UConn. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Sciences and Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs at UConn and is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
Cristina Grigore serves as the Privacy Manager for the GW Privacy Office. Her responsibilities include developing and maintaining relevant internal data privacy policies, procedures and training, partnering with the Information Security Team to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, programs and initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert and developing and implementing a robust privacy compliance plan. Cristina has a strong background in Business Process Design and Management, Compliance, Audit and Process Controls, previously having served in roles such as Controls Advisor and Business Process Advisor for ExxonMobil research and Engineering. Cristina earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Chemistry from the University of Bucharest, Romania and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
Senior Compliance Associate
Katie Droney serves as the Senior Compliance Associate for the Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Risk. Some of her responsibilities include supporting the office in the conflict of interest and commitment disclosure process, regulatory risk analysis, policy management process, and other cross-institutional working groups, partnerships, and compliance functions as needed. Katie has a strong background in research finance, compliance, and training, previously serving as a Research Finance and Compliance Specialist at Harvard University and a Financial Coordinator at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics at Brown University. She is certified in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and has developed numerous compliance courses for the higher education community. Katie earned a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and studied Organizational Behavior at Harvard Extension School.
