Disruption of University Functions
Policy Summary
No member of the university shall: a) engage in conduct that obstructs teaching, research or learning; b) engage in conduct that obstructs free access to members of the university or to university buildings; c) disobey general regulations of the university; or d) damage university property, or injure or cause of risk injury to members or guests of the university.
The purpose of this policy is to promote an environment conducive to education, research, and social activities.

Policy
Examples of disruptive conduct include, but are not limited to: engaging in demonstrations that exceed the bounds of free assembly or lawful advocacy; engaging in conduct that causes or threatens injury to persons or property; acting without authority to prevent another’s access to university buildings, facilities or events; interfering with or obstructing fire, security, police or emergency officials or their designees acting in performance of their duties; destroying or damaging university property or the property of others; or causing false fire alarms, false blue light activations, or making false reports of emergencies or dangerous conditions.
Violations
Members of the university may be disciplined for conduct in violation of this policy by dismissal from the university, or by some lesser disciplinary action through procedures established within the university for the governance of its members. Violators may also face criminal prosecution.
Definitions
Member of the University: A person, group or organization, including visitors, having a connection with the university, whether the connection is formal or informal, recognized or unrecognized.
University Police Officials: GWPD employees have the authority to enforce this policy.
