Privacy at GW refers to the handling of the personally identifiable information (PII) we collect in the administration of the university.

Specifically, it refers to the intended and proper use of this information, its proper disclosure, providing the right to access and the ability to amend the information in our care.

For example, types of information that GW comes across in its operating functions include student records, financial data and health information. These types of information have privacy and security requirements. 

We work closely with university stakeholders to apply core principles of information security and privacy standards to safeguard this information.
